Why have pawns when you can have giraffes and zebras? Naturally, we chose the latter. The players on this ancient battlefield set spots against horns and tusks against manes. A chess set with a difference, meticulously hand crafted by talented artisans from the Kamba people just East of Nairobi, a tribe traditionally known for their skill in wood carving. The beautiful board and figures are sculpted from sustainably sourced Jacaranda wood and come in a handmade banana leaf fibre box.
