A Kenyan twist on a traditional manger scene with a splash of festively coloured ‘shuka’.
Shukas, often affectionately referred to as ‘African blankets’, and are the Maasai peoples’ garment of choice. Swathed in these vibrantly pattered fabrics, they cut striking figures against the earthen hues of the savannah.
This traditional nativity scene comes in its own banana-leaf box which opens up to form the stable backdrop to this delightful Christmas scene.
Each of the figures is handcrafted from locally grown, sustainable sisal fibres and banana leaves.
Due to the handcrafted nature of this set, there may be subtle variations in the size and shape of the individual nativity figures and the box. The fabric covering on the box may vary slightly incolour and design.
